David is passionate about reminding us to “every day seek to make a difference” by allowing others to see Jesus through our own actions and deeds.
In 2005, David, his wife Jullie and their daughters Rachael and Abigail moved to The Woodlands, where he was called to become Senior Pastor and Head of Staff at WCPC. A native Virginian, David graduated in 1984 from Union Theological Seminary with a Doctor of Ministry degree.
Jullie, an accomplished artist, works in her home studio. David is often seen on the neighborhood pathways walking their dog while listening to music or books on tape. He has an ongoing love of history and sci-fi. The Jones family has expanded to include sons-in-law and grandchildren in Dallas and in Houston.
Laura’s primary focuses at WCPC are pastoral care, spiritual enrichment for adults, and the mission and outreach ministries. She serves as a pastoral resource for our Board of Deacons and Stephen Ministers.
Laura earned her MDiv from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2008. She also holds a BS in Chemistry from The University of Texas at Austin. She taught high school chemistry and biology prior to being called to seminary and ministry. Currently, Laura is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree in the Leadership for Wonder program at Austin Seminary.
Laura enjoys baking, crafting, and working at the Presbytery level. Her rescue cats, Calvin and Tilli, keep her entertained with their frequent gravitational experiments. Laura is delighted that God continues to call her to serve near family in Austin and Dallas.
Ruling elders and deacons are men and women elected by the congregation from among its members. The nomination and election of ruling elders and deacons shall express the rich diversity of the congregation’s membership and shall guarantee participation and inclusiveness.
The Session: Our Elders
The body of elders at WCPC is called the Session, which is responsible for overseeing the ongoing operation of the church. Each elder serves a three-year term and serves on a Ministry Team of the Session.
The Diaconate
Deacons are also elected for three-year terms to lead and coordinate compassionate care for members of our church family, sharing the love of Christ and serving those with needs. Each deacon is assigned a group of church members and serves on one of the Diaconate Ministry Teams.
